Tips and Tricks: Classic Pinup Makeup

Inspired by Marilyn Monroe and Bettie Paige, the classic pinup look has more recently been adopted by the likes of Dita Von Teese, Amy Winehouse and Katy Perry. Simple yet effective, achieving this pinup look is as easy as a sweep of liquid eyeliner and a full red lip.

Firstly I used Mac Studio Fix Liquid Foundation and concealer as needed, lightly powdering the T-zone to prevent any shine.

I followed with a wash of Vanilla pigment over the entire lid.

Next I lined the top of the eye using a black gel liner, I used Mac Fluid Line in Black Track.  The line can be as subtle or dramatic as you like.  I opted for a thicker, Amy Winehouse line for a more dramatic effect.

Now, to fill in the eyebrows I used a matte eye shadow.  Normally one or two shades darker than the natural brow works well.

Mascara, mascara, mascara and let's not forget the false lashes. For this look I used 1000 hour natural lashes.

I used Kryolan pink blush on the cheeks. I just love this colour - it gives the perfect shade of peachy pink.

Next I lined the lip and lightly filled it in with Mac Redd pencil.  I then went over with a smidge of Russian Red and a clear gloss for shine.

Well that about sums it up for my pinup makeup look.  Thanks for dropping by to check it out!  Also thanks to Belinda for taking the pics and our beautiful Itallian siren Carla for being our muse.
